Conversion

I need to find a good way to transfer all of my old video tapes to a newer format. One of my friends bought a combination DVD-recorder/VCR a year or two back, and wasn't too pleased; she suggested that I wait to buy one until the technology had matured a bit more. I'd better get something soon though . . .
